The past is often marked with bitter experiences; lucky for you if you have happier ones. We call it our past because it has already passed, something that happened a long time ago. If you continue to carry it, it’s what you call “living in the past”, or an unsettled and unfinished business. It gives an impression that you are trapped in a memory that is complicated or, perhaps, too complicated. Always remember that learning from the past is a good thing but reliving the past is another thing. What are the possible scenarios if you continue living in the past? There’s only one answer to that (and to the unfinished business). It will haunt you forever and the more you think about it the more you’ll get trapped in the vicious cycle of defeating your momentum to move forward. You are a dead man walking.
So my advice for you if you are the type who carries with you the ghosts of your tortured yesterday; throw it all into the river and leave it to drown. Start walking forward and never look back. Well, look back occasionally since you could have missed some bits of gold along the path you’re trudging but never walk back. Also, look at your sides, left and right, from time to time. You might get hit by a train or a trailer without knowing it, and then you won’t be able to move forward because you’ll be part of the past, history in short.
