raining cats and dogs

Of the storm and
"Rain."
Get it? Storm and
"Rain"?
Frequent storms are really a pain in the ass nowadays. The monsoon rains they bring never stop pouring causing destructive floods, and I hate having my shoes all soaked wet everytime I get out of the house. I'm getting the feeling that a lot of Filipinos don't care if it's caused by our fast deteriorating global climate, or maybe they consider it as just a myth or a media propaganda. I also get a feeling that, when an expert speaks of environment, all they could think of are the forest and the landslides on elevated portions of land, nothing to be worried about if they live in a city or the metropolis. Maybe when the entire Metro Manila becomes a swampy region like that of Malabon will they only start to care about their carbon contributions to global warming. Or maybe they'll just blame the government for not informing them earlier.
What will Bush be thinking if more of his country's states become victim to more Katrinas that will inevitably hit US? Will he still curtail the scientific community's voices regarding the cataclysmic times ahead if he does not make any efforts to cut-off his nation's green house gas emmissions? I can't help but see a bleak future for humanity in 10 more years to come. Maybe an eighth or, perhaps, a third of our generation won't be around to see the grimmer natural catastrophes after that 10 years. Or maybe I'm just exaggerating things up. Anyways, my point is that it might only be my shoe getting wet that I'm probleming for now. Later, maybe it's finding a piece of habitable land or property that's flood and landslide free. All because we, and most especially Bush and his Oil-loving henchmens, forgot to LOVE our environment.

WOw you have the word: cats and dogs too. I thought that we in South asia use it only. Yes, like your country, we have too much rain too during this time of the year.
Yep, you're right. It also rains mad here in the tropics especially during the monsoon seasons starting in May until October and some years reaching till December.
It's goddamn hot here in Penang =.=
It's because all the rains went north here in the Philippines and perhaps later to China, Taiwan, and Japan.
